Clancy, the leading North American theatre rigging designer
and manufacturer, has an excellent career opportunity
for an International salesperson. Founded in 1885, we're
still growing with new, innovative products like the
PowerLift and SceneControl Automated Rigging System.
The
salesperson will respond to requests for information
and quotes, be involved in estimating, prepare proposals,
and travel internationally (typically 6-8 times per
year). The person will work with existing dealers and
be responsible for developing new accounts.
Ideal
candidates for the position will have 2-5 year sales
experience, a good working knowledge of theatrical rigging
systems and the ability to clearly explain their use,
benefits, and suitability. International travel experience,
as well as an understanding of different cultures and
business approaches, is helpful. Clear written communication
skills are essential.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER |

J.
R. Clancy has an immediate employment opportunity for
a Mechanical Engineer to prepare submittal drawings
for rigging systems going into theaters and other structures.
Duties include review of construction plans and specs,
creation of layouts (plan and elevation views) and detail
drawings, performing calculations, designing or specifying
structural, rigging, and hardware items, performing
drawing review of own and other engineers/drafters work.
Ideal
candidates for this position will have a Mechanical
or Structural Engineering degree with two or more years
of structural and/or machine design. Experience in 2-D
CAD is required, with AutoCad Inventor background preferred.
Knowledge of material properties, welding callouts,
and common load calculations are desired. Theater design
or Technical Direction background is a major plus. The
position may include occasional field checks and support
on project job sites, and will involve manufacturing
shop support as required. Opportunities exist to support
new product development in addition to other duties.
